“I’m pretty picky with my meatballs, let alone “Turkey Meatballs ” and these Meatballs were Awesome!!! Thank you so much.” – Tracey

This is my new favorite turkey meatball recipe. I mean, I really, really love these. I am super picky and I don’t like eating leftover meat (it weirds me out), but I ate these for days…and gladly. So I think you’re going to like this 21 Day Fix Turkey Meatballs with garlic and parmesan, too…they are packed with flavor.

{updated: I’ve added Weight Watchers points at the bottom of this post!}

Ground turkey is so versatile – you can use it for tacos, chili, egg roll in a bowl (yum!) and turkey burgers. We put turkey to good use in these family-friendly meatballs.

My kids even ate them, despite their loud protests of, “There’s green stuff in these, I’m not eating them!!” We made each child take a bite, and guess what? They both agreed that they were good..Claire even asked for them in her lunch the next day.

These meatballs freeze amazingly well, so if you have time, you can double or even triple this recipe and freeze them for later. You can also make them larger, but the container counts are based on making 24 meatballs (4 per serving). Serve over whole wheat spaghetti or even better, zoodles…and you’re good to go!

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 25-30 minutes

Serves: 6 (if you make 24 meatballs and have 4 per serving)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper, or spray with canola oil.

Pour half of the tomato sauce into a 9×13 glass baking dish and spread in a thin layer to cover the bottom. Set aside.

In a large glass bowl, add ground turkey, eggs, 1 1/4 cups parmesan cheese, oregano, basil, parsley, garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Thoroughly combine the mixture with your hands and divide it into 24 equal-sized portions.

Gently roll each portion into a ball and place on a prepared baking sheet, leaving room between each meatball. Place baking sheet in preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.

Remove from oven and transfer meatballs to prepared baking dish. Spoon remaining sauce over meatballs and sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup parmesan cheese.

Place baking dish in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until sauce and meatballs are heated through. Remove from oven and serve immediately.

Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

You can reduce the sodium in these meatballs by using a low sodium tomato sauce, leaving out the added salt, and swapping out some of the parmesan for a lower sodium cheese, like mozzarella.

And there you have it – my favorite meatballs!

The 21 Day Fix program is always changing, and while I do my very best and never want to mess up (perfectionist, yo) please always double-check the container counts yourself…and that goes for all recipes, not just mine – I’ve seen some super shady ones out there!

21 Day Fix container counts, per serving:

  • 1.5 red
  • .33 green (purple if your tomato sauce has added sugar)
  • 1 blue

INSTANT POT DIRECTIONS (this recipe is based on a 6 qt Instant Pot):

(ingredients are the same, but you’ll also need one cup of chicken broth or water)
Prepare meatballs the same way.

Add 1 cup of chicken broth (water is fine too) to your Instant Pot. Add half of the sauce to the pot. Then, add the meatballs to the sauce. It’s okay if they’re stacked up. Add the remaining sauce to the top of the meatballs.

Set your release valve to seal and lock the lid in place, and then turn on manual for 8 minutes. Once done, let the pot naturally release (or at release for 10 minutes before releasing the valve).

Carefully open your pot and scoop out your meatballs. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over your meatballs.

Enjoy!
