Printable Book Lover Bookmarks
As I’m writing this post, it’s early August. Here’s what I finished reading in July (and a baby review of each book in case you’re looking for something new to read):
A New Earth, by Eckhart Tolle – Guys. This book changed my life. I know, I read it in July and it’s only August…but this book impacted me in such a profound way that I’ll be writing about it again in the near future. I don’t even know what to say here, except if you feel called to read this book, you should not wait a second longer.
The Lost World, by Michael Crichton – I’m pretty sure I read this back in the 90s when it came out because I think I’ve read most of Michael Crichton’s books. Or, I’ve just seen so many Jurassic Park movies it all kind of runs together. But if you like Crichton, and/or Jurassic Park, this is a fun one.
In Conclusion, Don’t Worry About It, by Lauren Graham – OK so I LOVE Lauren Graham but what I didn’t realize is that this is a graduation speech that she gave and was later published. So it was good, but I read it in probably 30 minutes. And I paid like $13 for it. This is definitely more of a gift book for a new graduate than something I would normall buy for myself. So that’s what I get for not doing my research.
Ask Again, Yes, by Mary beth Keane – This was my favorite fiction in the stack. Beautifully written, with a twist I didn’t see coming. I got this in my Book of the Month membership and when I started it, I wasn’t too sure I was going to like it, let alone enjoy it. You know how some books are good to read when you’re trying to fall asleep, and others are the opposite? I thought this would be a good falling to sleep book. But it ended up keeping me up way too late instead.
In a Dark, Dark Wood, by Ruth Ware – If you’re a fan of Gone Girl or Girl on a Train, you’ll probably like this. An easy-to-read thriller, it was hard to put down and I raced right through it. I think the end wrapped up a little bit too neatly for my tastes, but it wasn’t a wasted read. I would read another book by this author.
A Game of Thrones, by George R.R. Martin – I read this because I was watching the show, and I wanted to compare the show to the book in real time. But honestly guys? I never, ever, ever say this…but…the show was better. Maybe if I had read the book first and then watched the show I would have felt differently. The show is more graphic, and I never got used to that…I had to cover my eyes for all the gruesome scenes. So that’s something I didn’t love about the show. And the book goes into more detail and lets you learn about the characters on a deeper level. But overall, I like the show better – although I probably will continue with the books!
OK now to the bookmarks!
To use these, print on card stock and cut them out. Super simple, and you’ll love looking at them every time you save that page. I’ve got some pointers for printing beautiful printables at home in this post if you’d like some help or guidance with printing.
