I’ve been making healthy changes in my life, and as a result, I’ve been trying to share healthier recipes with you on the blog. But I also believe there is an exception for everything, and today I bring you that exception with this copycat Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup recipe. This is my mother-in-law’s recipe, and when I made it today, my oldest said, “WOW! Grammie is a master chef.”

I would like to thank the Texas Peanut Producers Board for sponsoring this post. They hosted the Texas Peanut Blog Tour in Lubbock, Texas, that I attended to learn more about Texas peanut farming. All opinions are my own. You can read more about my trip and the things we did here.

You needed to know that so you’ll feel better about all the *other* ingredients in this recipe (powdered sugar and butter, I am looking at you…).

Y’ALL. Shelling peanuts is some serious business. Honestly, after seeing the process that a single peanut goes through before it becomes a peanut we’d buy in a store, I think it is miracle of the blessed Mary and baby Jesus that any peanut EVER ends up intact Really, this is a testament to the technology and quality of equipment and machinery a peanut shelling facility uses, because WOW…each peanut passes through about a gazillion machines, and then has to be transported for processing, and then packaged…I will never again complain when I have to eat all the broken bits at the bottom of the can of Planters my mom gives me for Christmas every year.
So, here’s one of MY favorite ways to eat me some peanuts…in this copycat Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup recipe (you’ll notice they don’t look like cups – you totally COULD make them in cupcake liners for that effect – but this is way easier).

- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 16 oz powdered sugar
- 16 oz jar smooth peanut butter
- 2 sticks butter
- 2 bags chocolate chips
Here’s how to make them:
Use a food processor to grind graham crackers into crumbs.

Melt the butter and add to the bowl. Use a mixer to mix thoroughly.
