We enjoyed a complimentary breakfast at the Keeter Center at the College of the Ozarks as part of a promotional blogger tour of Branson, MO through the US Family Guide. All opinions are 100% my own.
My family loves a good breakfast, but we rarely go out to eat in the mornings (morning is kind of, uhhh…difficult…for me). It’s always a special occasion that gets me motivated for some early morning dining, and when we were in Branson, that special occasion was VACATION! Woohoo!
We were able to experience a fabulous breakfast at a unique place, and what’s not to love about that?
Brunch at The Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks is high on my list of activities I would revisit if we went back to Branson. Here’s why!
The Keeter Center at the College of the Ozarks is staffed by students. In fact, students work on campus in exchange for tuition. This means that students are able to graduate without debt, which I think is pretty amazing. The Keeter Center provides fine dining (using fresh, local ingredients whenever possible) and lodging. They are famous for their Sunday Brunch, and based on the breakfast we had, I am guessing it’s fantastic.
The food was delicious (my bacon was cooked exactly how I like it…and perfect bacon is worth celebrating). The service was great (friendly students served us and made sure we were taken care of). The location…A+.
After breakfast, we walked around and checked out the rest of the facilities. Truly, The Keeter Center is an experience. It’s about the food, but it’s not *just* about the food. It’s a gorgeous location with the kind of surroundings you just want to walk around and enjoy.
But before exploring…dance party! Because the big wooden floors were just begging to be danced upon!
I feel like I would be doing the entire universe a disservice if I failed to mention the Butter Cake. The Keeter Center has a Gourmet Bakery that sells fresh pastries, desserts, and drinks. As I was walking by, I noticed something that looked like it needed me to eat it, and so I bought it. It was called Butter Cake (I believe), and it was dusted in powder sugar. You should know that butter and powder sugar, combined, make one of my favorite things ever. EVER. And this cake? You know when you have pancakes and cover them in butter and powdered sugar and cut them all up and are left with a gob of deliciousness on your fork? Well. That’s what the WHOLE CAKE TASTED LIKE.
We went outside after breakfast and let the kids run around to burn off some steam. And also, we wanted to check out the grounds and the beautiful view from the back porch (where you can also dine). One of the highlights of this trip, in general, was seeing all of the pretty scenery and green hills surrounding us everywhere we went. I loved the idea of dining outside with the Ozarks as my backdrop.
When we return to Branson, as I’m sure we someday will, this will be high on my list of things to repeat. Great food, fabulous service, and the Ozarks. Yes, please!

This is a great cover review for Keeter, I live 2 1/2 hour drive away and have never been. I want to take my 87and 82 year old parents, and 63 year old brother who has had light stroke , they all can walk ok but not real far, and not a whole lot of stairs. Would this be to hard for them to get up to the restaurant for brunch?
Is the price about $25 per person? Thanks for helping me set up this trip for my Family, Kary Ellen , Clinton Ar.
P.S. You sure have beautiful children. Oh and I can really relate to your name 🙂
Hi Kary! It’s been a few years, but I don’t remember any stairs except a few to get into the building (and I would bet they have a ramp option, too). Dining was all on the first floor (at least that is where we ate!). I do belive it was about $25 and it was SO delicious. And the staff was incredibly kind and helpful! Make sure you get the butter cake. <3 This was definitely a highlight of our Branson trip and I think your family would enjoy it. <3
