Claire and I visited the Perot Museum last week. We learned about the new exhibits and everything you need to know to host a birthday party at the Perot Museum. Read on for more info AND a chance to win four tickets to the museum!
It’s March, you guys! MARCH! And that means (aside from all the rain, and ice, and cold weather) that the Perot Museum of Nature and Science is full of fun new springtime activities that I know you won’t want to miss! Last week, Claire and I braved a blustery day (SNOW!) to check out the fun new activities taking place at the museum.
One of the things I love most about the museum is that it really, truly is child-friendly. My kids find something new around every corner, and I usually end up dragging them from each exhibit because they could spend hours at each one!
New to the museum, and staying for just a short amount of time, is the International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes. In this exhibit, participants can see how Sherlock Holmes used science to solve mysteries, and then try to solve a murder mystery themselves.
Did you know that the author of Sherlock Holmes, Arthur Conan Doyle, was a chemistry and forensics expert who pioneered the way for modern-day forensics? You’ll learn about this and SO MUCH MORE at the Sherlock Holmes exhibit.
Of course, visiting the museum with a three-year-old means we didn’t spend a lot of time solving murder mysteries. As usual, Claire wanted to check out the dinosaurs, experience an earthquake, and check out the view every chance we got. Halfway through our visit, Claire turned to me and said (with all the sincerity a person has when they are three-years-old and only ever say what they really mean), “Mom, I really like it here.”
While we were there, we were lucky enough to talk with Perot Museum CEO Colleen Walker about everything going on at the museum. She got us up-to-date on the Sherlock exhibit as well as the newest National Geographic films playing at the museum (which are SO cool, by the way).
We also learned a little bit more about birthday parties at the Perot Museum, and I want to share some notes on that because I think this sounds way (way, way, waaaaaaay) better than some of the birthday parties I have thrown that cost just as much.
