Grand Country Inn is Designed for Family Fun

We received a complimentary three-night stay at Grand Country Inn as part of a promotional blogger tour of Branson, MO through the US Family Guide. All opinions are 100% my own.\

My favorite thing about Branson is how family-friendly it is…the kids were welcome everywhere we went, and most of the attractions were designed specifically with families in mind. This is also true of the hotel we stayed at. Grand Country Inn was a kid’s dream come true, and parents will appreciate the affordable rooms and close proximity to all of the best Branson has to offer.

Grand Country Inn BransonGrand Country Inn is a sprawling complex that has lodging, entertainment, dining, a candy shop, and even an indoor water park! To be honest, most of the time we spent at the hotel was spent sleeping…although we did hit the indoor water park one evening, we were so busy during the rest of our trip that we didn’t have as much time at the hotel as the kids would have liked (they reallllly wanted to play indoor miniature golf).

Lodging is spread out across several different buildings. One of the buildings is adjacent to the water park, and you can reserve one of these rooms for an extra $10/night. If you plan on spending lots of time at the water park, it would definitely be worth the upgrade!

We stayed in this building!

Our room had two queen-sized beds, and this worked out great for us. You can also book a Clubhouse Room, with a normal bed for adults and bunkbeds for the kids. Our room had both a microwave and a small refrigerator, which was awesome – we brought snacks with us, and it was nice to have a place to store them.

Of course, the highlight for the kids was the indoor water park. Although we only spent a couple of hours there, it was great fun. Waterslides are suitable for little kids, there’s a lazy river (short, but fun), and there is a splash area for babies and toddlers, too.

Bigger kids and parents will love miniature golf (indoor and outdoor), mini bowling, and laser tag. There are also shows and entertainment in the Music Hall, along with a really fun gift shop.

There were also several dining options, and the breakfast buffet was delicious! The kids got our money’s worth in mini pancakes alone.

But my favorite perk of staying at Grand Country Inn was the CANDY STORE. Let me tell you a sad story about the candy store.

I took a little walk while the kids were asleep, and it ended in the candy shop (where else?!), where I proceeded to buy lots of candy, and a half pound of fudge that was made on-site.

Fudge. Yum.

So, I took this back to the room and shared with my family when they woke up from their naps. The next day, on the drive home, I asked Charles where he had packed the candy. And the fudge.

“Oh,” he said. “I threw it away. You didn’t still want it, did you?”

Umm.  AAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH! I didn’t still want it, my you-know-what.

Fare the well, sweet fudge.

Grand Country Inn was within easy driving distance of all the attractions we visited, and within walking distance to many, too.

As we packed up our room to leave, the kids were noticeably sad. “I don’t want to leave our hotel, Mom!” said Jack, sitting on the bed with a frown. “I haven’t even played laser tag yet. Can we stay here forever?”

Forever? No. But can we come back? For sure, kid.

It seems like even grown-ups can enjoy and feel like kids once more 🙂
