I have to be honest: I played hooky last week (Oops, sorry bosses…). And while I’m getting it all out there – the reason, you might ask? To go to the local Farmer’s Market I haven’t been to in months. I don’t know if I should get cool points or hide in the house for a few days, but either way it made me SO. FREAKING. HAPPY. So… I win 🙂
This weekly meal plan is full of some of my favorite grabs: butternut squash (I went nuts… haha), sweet potatoes, hearty kale, some heirloom tomato stragglers and, of course, some expensive local cheeses that were totally worth the price. My fridge is stuffed. And colorful. And beautiful. Ohmigosh, can you tell I’m still happy?!?! #foodnerd
Get out there while you still can and take advantage of all the fresh produce and goods (local meats are also a bit a pricey, but it’s worth the splurge whenever you’re able to go for it). It’s a little more difficult to convince yourself to stroll around the market once it gets cold and rainy. Winter is coming.
(I also just made a Game of Thrones reference. I’ll be quiet now 😉 )
