There is nothing I love to do in this world more than travel. Nothing. And yes, that includes cooking, which is a very close second. I’ve been craving flavors from a few of my favorite warm and sunny places, so I dreamed up this tasty weekly meal plan to make a culinary escape from my everyday life. I just realized that I should’ve added some fruity cocktails to make myself really get into it…
One of the first family vacations I ever took – by plane!- was to Hawaii. My parents must’ve paid a fortune taking 3 kids on a contractor’s budget, but I remember SO much of it and still believe it’s a trip that inspired me to continue exploring the world. I actually think it was the first time I ever tried coconut, and realized “Wow, this good. And so much different from California.” As a kid, is there much besides pizza, spaghetti, and mac n cheese? Nah, not really.
As I’ve “grown up,” I’ve realized food is a cultural narrative and is one of the best ways to sneak off for a quick “vacation” from your own home. For real. I buy spices everywhere I travel so I can recreate some of my favorite meals. Anywho, these are here to inspire you and your taste buds. Aloha 🙂
