I’ve partnered with Firewheel Town Center in Garland, Texas, to bring some news about the upcoming Star-Spangled Spectacular. All opinions are my own!
When we moved from the country to the suburbs, one of my moving requirements was that we would have lots of places to shop. Not because I’m such a huge shopper, really…but more because, after years of having to drive 45 minutes to the nearest mall, I just wanted one closer. Just because.
As we drove through our new neighborhood and surrounding areas, we found ourselves pulling into Firewheel Town Center to check it out. Eight-and-a-half months pregnant, with a two-year-old in the car, we drove slowly through the shop-lined streets of Firewheel and I turned to my husband and said, “Can you even imagine having all of these shops so close to us?!”
And so began my love affair with Firewheel.
Easrlier this week, I stopped by to pick up some cute 4th of July clothes. We’re not usually matchy-matchy, but I do like to make the kids dress up in red, white and blue for the 4th.
There are some great sales going on right now. Check out these cute patriotic outfits I picked up for the kids at The Children’s Place (everything is $9.99 or less – plus, I signed up for their emails and got an 18% off coupon in addition to their current sale prices).
Just to give you an idea of the savings, for $62 I bought: one pair of shorts, two t-shirts, two dresses, two pairs of shoes, and two bathing suits.
Then, I headed to Old Navy for some new jeans and a few $4 tops (woohoo). And finally, to Maurice’s, where I picked up a cute red shirt and these fantastic shoes (which were on sale for $20 and are super comfy).
Which is perfect, because the Firewheel Town Center will be hosting the Star-Spangled Spectacular on Monday, July 3rd.
If you’re local, this is a great place to catch fireworks and tons of fun family festivities. The day is full of free entertainment for the whole family, with bounce houses, face painting, balloon artists, music, games and more.
And if you missed it, it’s all FREE! 🙂
Here are some of the scheduled events for the day:
- 4-9PM: face painting, bounce houses, balloon artists, music from the 92.1 Party Patrol, and more
- 7-9PM: Live performance from Hi Definition on the Main Stage (near Houlihan’s)
- 9PM: On the main stage, the Boy Scouts of America will conduct a Flag Presentation Ceremony, followed by the National Anthem
- 9:15PM: FIREWORKS!
And don’t forget the food trucks – come hungry!
Additionally, there will be tons of special deals and great sales – pick up a copy of the Star-Spangled Savings to find featured disounts and promotions (sales will be taking place all weekend, from July 1st-4th).
So, let’s talk logistics real quick.
Wear sunscreen and bring a hat! Bring your own chairs and blankets if you want to stay for the fireworks show. Also, water. Because Texas. Parking is limited, so arrive plenty early (DART transportation services Firewheel, so that is also an option).
You can find out more at Firewheel’s website.
What are your plans for the 4th? I’d love to hear what you’re doing!
