One of my weaknesses is french fries. FRENCH FRIES. Yeah, I had to say it in all caps because they’re that good. But with all the frying, and all the salt, and all the frying – they’re definitely not something I’ve been eating much of lately. Unfortunately, the 21 Day Fix looks down upon fried foods.
So I LOVE this alternative from Sarah over at Life Love and Thyme – these Oven Roasted Potato Fries are a *much* healthier alternative to french fries, and I can even make a few little tweaks to make them even more suitable for my diet (although really, I’ll probably eat them just like the recipe suggests).
My kids are big fry addicts, and when we’ve tried to make potato wedges in the past, they always revolt – too potato-y, not enough french fry-like. I think that these oven roasted potato fries are thin enough that I could even trick my kids into eating them.
These are also a great alternative to mashed potatoes, which we love to whip up when we have a BBQ or have friends over to eat. Mashed potatoes are good. But also full of butter and cream and other non-potato things that make them taste good, but not-so-good-for-you. This is a great alternative!
