Sometimes new things are both exciting AND terrifying. And today I’m telling you guys about something that’s completely exciting and also a little bit terrifying, too…I opened a shop on Etsy. Click here to check out the new CarrieElle Etsy shop.
Terrifying, because…what if it’s dumb? What if no one buys anything? What if people are laughing at my dumb idea or saying they’re too expensive? What if I’m not charging enough? What if I don’t have time? What if I wake up and realize I’ve never sold anything before and have no idea what I’m doing?
Ha! Lots of fears, but…I’m pushing past them.
A couple of months ago I started searching for meal planners online because I wanted to buy one. I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted to buy, so I said…”I’ll just make my own.” And then…months later, after a lot of trial and error, I finally opened up shop. I am selling meal planners!
Sure, you can download free printable meal planners ALL OVER THE INTERNET (including on this site). But these are different…designed to stay in your kitchen and be there when you need them, my goal is to make meal planning easy and fun.
I have a few other things in the works…food journals for people like me who need to write down what they eat and don’t like using their phones to record everything (assuming, of course, there are actually people out there like that aside from me) and magnetic chore charts for kids are in the works. And maybe some downloadable wall art in the near future, too.
But for now? Meal Planners.
Let me tell you about them…and if you are interested, you can enter to win a $20 credit to my Etsy shop to get one for yourself.
All planners are 8.5″ x 11″, and laminated. I’m going to show you different pages from different books so you can get an idea for what they are like.
Inside each book is a cute quote, directions for using the book, and 12 monthly calendar pages for people who like to meal plan a month at at time (blank, so you can start whenever you want).
Each planner also includes 60 weekly meal planning pages, and these are my favorite. Each page is perforated, so you can rip it out of the book and hang the menu on the fridge and take the grocery list with you to the store (no scissors needed, and no messy edges). Here’s an example of one of the planning pages from the “Rainbow Hearts” meal planner:
Here’s another picture of the planning pages, in use!
At the back of each book are 5 blank pages for notes/planning.
Each book also has my mother-in-law’s famous lasagna recipe on the inside of the back cover.
Planners are priced from $15-20 and for now, those prices INCLUDE SHIPPING. The $15 planners are all black and white and are laminated in a slightly thinner laminating pouch than the other books. The $20 books are all color and laminated in a super-hefty laminate. All books are bound with a plastic coil. My goal was to create something that could hold up to year in the kitchen and that would be functional AND fun to look at, too.
These are great for people who meal plan, people who WANT to meal plan, and also make fun housewarming or newlywed gifts.
I have LOTS more coming in the next few weeks…some of the same designs currently listed, but also a few new designs, too. I hope you’ll check in with my shop every now and then and see if something appeals to you!
