The best part of Christmas break (besides Christmas and family time and all that good stuff, of course) was that I finally got around to watching some Netflix shows I’ve had on my to-watch list for months now. I don’t let myself watch a lot of television during my busy season, because I would literally never get anything done.
You see, I’m not the kind of person who can only watch one episode. Oh, no. I’m a tv binger.
I’m a member of the Netflix #StreamTeam, which means I’m a Netflix ambassador and get to share all of my binge watching experiences and television obsessions with you, so you can binge watch, too. This week I’m sharing my lastest favorite shows.
Here’s what I’ve been watching lately on Netflix:
Stranger Things 2 – I finally caught up with the rest of the world (yay). This season is shorter, only eight episodes (I think?), so if you’re a true binge-watching champ you could polish this series off in a day or two. It took me two, I think…maybe three.
I loved the first season, but I only watched it because a friend assured me it wasnt scary (it was scary, you guys! Be warned, if you’re a Super Wimp like I am, you might be scared. If you like scary stuff, this will be a walk in the park).
I was worried the second season wouldn’t deliver, but I liked it as well (or maybe even a little better?) than the first season.
Black Mirror – I’ve finally caught on to the Black Mirror craze, and it does. not. disappoint.
Each episode is its own stand-alone mini movie, so you can watch it any order. The show takes a creepy, technology-dominated, Big Brother view of our future selves. It’s so smart. And while some episodes are definitely stronger than others, it’s compelling enough that it’s very hard to watch just one episode.
Some of the subject matter is pretty dark and disturbing, so be warned. But I kind of think of it as a High Tech Hunger Games for Grown-Ups.
Chef’s Table – This is what I watch when I need something easy and low-stress. If you like cooking shows or consider yourself a foodie, you’ll probably love this show. If you don’t care about cooking shows and wouldn’t consider yourself a foodie, which is the camp I’m in, you’ll still like this show.
Each episode focuses on one famous chef. You learn their story, their process, their food – and get to peek into their beautiful restaurants.
Gilmore Girls – It’s been awhile since I finished watching Gilmore Girls for the first time.
But I love this show so much. Whenever I’m in doubt, sitting there with the remote in my hand, waffling over what to watch…I put on Gilmore Girls. When I was sick and didn’t have the brain power for anything new, I put on Gilmore Girls. And when I was editing my book (WHAT WHAT!) and needed some company and inspiring words, I put on Gilmore Girls (because that show is full of words, and they are awesome).

And there you have it – that’s what I’ve been watching lately on Netflix. What about you? What are your current favorites?
I love Black Mirror and Chef’s Table. Gilmore Girls was my favorite growing up, I’ve been scared to jump into a reboot.
I liked it! I know some people didn’t, but I was a fan!
