Last year, I had the cutest centerpiece on my table. It was a big jar full of little pumpkins and cinnamon sticks, and it smelled amazing – I could smell it from the moment I’d walk into the room. It was gorgeous! But, you know, kids and dogs and all that…and this year, that centerpiece is, well, in pieces.
I figured that this year I’d just search Pinterest for some super simple DIY centerpieces for fall and make one myself.
Last week, though, I picked up some new Glade® Jar Candles at Kroger – and as soon as I saw the colors I knew I wanted to use them for fall decorating. Fall colors are pretty standard, right? Brown, gold, orange, maybe some green and red. But these candles inspired me to step outside of the box and spice things up with some bright blue – and I LOVE the way it turned out.

After staring at my candles for a couple of days and being so, so grateful that it’s September and TOTALLY APPROPRIATE to light pumpkin candles, I knew exactly what I wanted to make. I wanted to make a simple and bright fall centerpiece using mason jars, burlap, and flowers.
Here’s what you need to make this fall centerpiece:
- 12″ wooden craft ring (if you want to make a little wreath to set your vases in)
- Decorative leaves
- Mason jars (I used three – two large and one pint-sized)
- Glue gun
- Flowers (I used fake ones because real ones are pretty, but ain’t nobody got time for that)
Cut the burlap so it will fit around your mason jars (with a tiny bit of room for overlap). Do the same with the ribbon. Use a strip of glue to adhere the burlap to the mason jar, wrap it around the jar, and glue it down.
For the smaller jar, I wrapped ribbon all around it, using a strip of glue to keep it all in place. I then used a little rope at the top and bottom to give it character.
I think I spent about 10 minutes on this craft – it was that simple. I couldn’t be happier with the bright pop the blue brings to the table (lol…brings to the table). And now my table looks all pretty and fall-ish, and I can go back to enjoying my fall candles!
