I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Influence Central for Panasonic. I received product samples as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation. #4KPhoto #4KFun
Eeek! Summer is over and all of a sudden we have schedules. Schedules! Places to be. Things to do. Commitments. Library books to return. Soccer practices to attend. After-school events. And then some.
To be honest, I was looking forward to it. Summer is awesome, and then…we reach a point where everybody is better off when we get back to the grind. The school year just started, but it’s already looking to be a fun one.
For one thing? Claire has been super excited to go to school every day. She liked school last year, but the mornings could be rough. But last night, she was crying…because she wanted to go to school. Our conversation went a little like this:
Claire (crying): I want to school ALL the time! I just love math SO. MUCH. (extra tears here)
Me: What do you love the most about math?
Claire (through tears): Ummmm, I love tracin’ the letter F, and singin’ about apples.
So, I don’t think she quite knows what math is yet, but she’ll learn soon enough. The important thing is that she is loving school. Don’t let this face fool you.
The Panasonic Lumix G7 has been fantastic. Small, light, and easy to carry around it, it’s been my go-to camera for activities and kid events. The craziest part is that I’ve been shooting entirely in auto, and I continue to get amazing shots. I’m not a professional photographer (clearly!), but I do know *just* enough to use some of the settings on my DSLR.
I have played with the settings on the Lumix for some photos, but honestly? The pictures it takes in auto continue to blow my mind…and it’s SO EASY, I just don’t really bother with any of the settings (maybe someday, though…this camera is capable of so much).
With a touch-enabled monitor, the Panasonic Lumix G7 takes 4K ultra HD video at up to 30 frames per second. You can extract any of those frames in an 8-megapixel still image that you can upload directly to your phone to share on social media.
The camera has three 4K Ultra HD Video pause and extract modes. The pictures you see here were mostly extracted from short videos (mostly shot in the camera’s 4K Pre-Burst mode, which takes 3 seconds of video that you can scroll through to find your perfect photos). This makes it so easy (and fun!) to get that *perfect* moment or expression! This is really handy for photographing sports.
The Lumix G7 also comes with super fast focus and tracking, so you those perfect moments won’t be blurry. I can also upload photos immediately to my phone that I can email or share on social media.
I really don’t think I could capture the same quality of action photos with my other cameras. But I’ve also been loving it for ALL kid photos. When Claire wants to give me a bunch of poses (which she seems to want to do…often), I can take 4K HD video and then scroll through and pick out the best moments.
