A couple weeks ago, I got a chance to do something totally different (to me) and exciting. I visited a baby and kids’ expo called PBJ: Play, Baby, Juvenile located at Dallas Market Center. It was a unique experience and I got to check out some awesome new baby and kid products that I hadn’t seen before. I want to share them all with you, but there were just so many I don’t even know where to start. So I thought I’d break it into two posts…one for baby stuff and one for toddler/kid stuff.
I found a bunch of baby shower gift ideas, and I’ll share some of my favorites with you.
And as I write this, I’ll sit over here and weep silently that some of these weren’t around when my kids were babies!
Bugaboo Andy Warhol Banana Collection: Pictured above, this Bugaboo stroller is kind of amazing. It has all kinds of user-friendly cool features, but what I really love is the cool design! So fun. If you want one, best of luck to you…there are only 30 available in this print!
CuddleCloth: The CuddleCloth is a clever little invention that keeps parents dry during bath time, and quickly and easily wraps around baby once the bath is over. Mom (or Dad) wears it around their neck during bath. Once baby is washed, you pick up baby and hold him to your chest. You won’t get wet, because you have the towel covering you. You release the towel around your neck and wrap around baby. It has a cute little hood and is big enough to cover the baby. They are wonderfully soft and made from high quality fabrics.
Momma’s Jewels Sterling Silver Teething Jewelry: Most likely, you’ve seen teething jewelry. Cute necklaces and bracelets that are safe and even fun for baby to chew on, teething jewelry is popular! Momma’s Jewels are beautiful sterling silver teething necklaces that are pretty enough to wear long after baby is done teething. And they can be engraved, making them a fabulous and special gift for new moms (hey! Mother’s Day is coming!).
Mixie Bottle: Okay, I’ll be honest here. I never used formula. Not a drop! So I really have no idea what goes into mixing a bottle of formula. In fact, until seeing the Mixie bottle, I didn’t even realize that you couldn’t pre-mix a bottle of formula. Apparently that is a no-no and you have to mix it right before you use it (who knew?!). The Mixie bottle stores the formula in an air-tight compartment, and the water in another. When you’re ready to use it, you just push a button on the bottom of the bottle and the formula is released into the water. An agitator mixes it all up when you shake it, and voila! Your bottle is ready.
PunkinWrap: Where was this when my daughter was a baby? Seriously. This is so cool. It’s one fabulously pretty little piece of fabric that works as a nursing cover, a stroller sunshade, car seat cover, and a lightweight blanket that attaches to your baby carrier, too. I got to check this out and it’s awesome! I love that it’s long enough to actually cover baby when nursing (how many times have you used a nursing cover that is so short it doesn’t even cover baby?). This is a perfect baby shower gift.
DyPee Baby Changing Cushion: How many times have you had to change a baby in the back seat of your car? We used to do it ALL THE TIME. And I can tell you, it’s a pain. The baby is rolling around on the sloped seat and you can never get to your wipes, and just…it’s a pain. The DyPee Changing Cushion changes all that! It’s a padded wedge that you put on the seat of your car. The memory foam top and soft fabric keep baby in one (flat!) spot when you need to change diapers on the run. This is another one of those products that would be a great baby shower gift. Review and giveaway coming soon!
Infantech Solutions Baby Monitor for Cars: How many times have you been driving down the road trying to figure out if your baby is asleep or awake or has pulled a blanket up over their face in the backseat? Probably lots. This baby monitor solves that problem. With a camera hidden in a cute stuffed animal that attaches to the headrest of the back seat, you can keep tabs on your little one as you’re driving. This would be great to have on road trips!
Nizo Wear Nursing Bras: Nursing bras are one of those things you can get super cheap at Target, or spend a gazillion dollars on at a boutique store. Nizo Nursing Bras are a quality product with a lower price point than their high-end couterparts, AND they are extra special because they have a special secret healing pocket. You can place cooling gel pads or warm pads in the pockets, depending on what you need. How clever is that?
The PBJ Kid’s Expo was a fun place to catch up on the latest baby products.
Next week, I’ll bring you the Toddler/Kid edition…because there was lots of cool new stuff for the big kids, too!
