I participated in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Healthgrades. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
How much time do you spend researching your doctors?
I am willing to bet that most of us – myself included – don’t spend nearly enough time researching the doctors we trust our health to. The first things I usually look for when choosing a doctor are proximity and whether or not they are in our insurance carrier’s network. And those are two important things to have! But…it sure would be nice if there was an easy way to find all of that information and get reviews from fellow consumers before choosing a doctor.
I want to know how much time I’ll be spending in the waiting room, how effective my doctor is at treating the conditions we’re there to see him for, and how friendly the office staff is…and I want to know before I go (those are not always fun things to find out during a visit!).
You can use Healthgrades to find doctors, dentists, and hospitals. You can manage your appointments, read reviews on different providers, research their experience and education, and even see which insurance carriers are accepted by each doctor.
Before I was a stay-at-home mom, I was a licensed insurance broker specializing in employee benefits. This was only two years ago…and this was the kind of program and app we wished “back in the day” – what a great (and convenient!) way for people to make an informed decision about their healthcare.
