Thanks to Participant Media for sponsoring today’s discussion about awesome teachers and the upcoming TEACH documentary.
I have been lucky to have lots of amazing teachers during my years as a student in the public school system. I can count my sub-par teachers on one hand, and that’s saying something – from kindergarten through graduating high school, I was surrounded by passionate and qualified teachers who cared.
It sounds cheesy, but ohmygoodness it is true – teachers are shaping our future. They can make the difference in a child’s ability to succeed…or to fail.
I know firsthand how much a teacher invests in their students. My mom is a teacher, and I see every day how much time, and effort, and money, and love she pours into her classroom and her kids.
Did you know that in the next ten years, 65% of America’s current teachers will retire? Then what? Who is going to step up and fill that void?
On September 6th, CBS will air TEACH – a documentary directed by Academy Award-winning director Davis Guggenheim that follows that lives of four public school teachers – and their students – through an entire school year.
Take a look:
“TEACH” will also air on the new network, Pivot, on September 18th at 8:00 pm ET/PT
Do you have a teacher who inspired you? Will you be watching TEACH?
